Most of us are aware of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey on Houston. This past weekend our church took up an offering for relief efforts there. But are you aware of the floods in India, just as severe? Our church sent $5000 last month for those relief efforts through our ASSI partners.
We are a church involved globally and within our own country. Same natural disaster in two different geographic regions, yet God inspired our leadership to help with both situations. May the Name of Jesus be lifted up in Houston and India as God’s people on the ground minister to friends and neighbors!
GLOBAL IMPACT WEEKENDS
We enjoyed having many people come by our kiosks in the lobby this past weekend to sponsor more children and learn about 2018 trips. 18 more children are now sponsored. Did you like the Guatemalan coffee in Café 1837? Kenyan coffee will be served this coming weekend (my personal favorite). Many small groups have been in prayer for our global partners, last week and this. Were you inspired as I was by the story of Esther, Mackenzie and Mia Stein? Their journey of sponsoring Miranda in Guatemala has impacted their whole family. You can watch the video here.
This coming weekend, Brad and Bonnie Jones and Dawn Springer will be with us in the lobby. They are our Navajo partners with Lifeline Christian Mission. Please come by and say hello, thank them for their ministry in Arizona to the Navajo Nation.
Lastly, let me refresh the 1+1 vision. We see one child sponsored overseas for every child who attends on weekends at Connection Pointe. Currently, there are just over 600 children sponsored. Weekend attendance for children at Connection Pointe hovers around 1000. If you are looking for the first step of engaging in global ministry, child sponsorship is a great place to start.Hope to see you this weekend,
