The team made it safely to Guatemala yesterday and were immediately greeted by our hosts from Vision Trust. Saturday evening was then spent unpacking VBS supplies, getting settled and getting to know the Vision Trust staff.

Sunday was an exciting day as we visited the brand new Learning Center classrooms and facilities on land that had started being cleared by our January and April teams. The two classroom buildings are beautiful bamboo structures with a third building that houses a kitchen, bathrooms, and a teacher work/supply room. Our team also started clearing more of the land to plant grass (not seed or sod, but rows of grass) for a play area for the children. We will post pictures as soon as we’re able to find a wifi connection!

Our team also had the honor of meeting the people throughout Los Verdes and La Comunidad, including some team members meeting their sponsored children, as we walked throughout the community. We made a few home visits with families and had many more come into the streets to greet us. It’s wonderful to see how the trust and relationships build even stronger with each CPCC team. It’s also awfully humbling to be praying with a family and have them praying right back for blessings for our team!

Tomorrow is the first of three days of VBS. We ask for prayers that the children come thirsty to learn…and that the rain holds off until the afternoon. We are so blessed to be here that we wouldn’t let a little rain deter us though!
